1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files or identifiers stored by the browser to enable certain functions, remember preferences, or provide information about how a site is used.
We may also use browser local-storage technologies to remember certain choices, such as your consent preference.
2. Categories currently used
The Open North website currently uses two relevant categories:
Necessary
These are resources necessary for the site to function and stay secure, or to remember essential choices made by the visitor.
Our implementation uses browser local storage to record your privacy choice under the key:
open_north_cookie_consent_v1
It stores only the preference version, your choice about Analytics, and the date/time of the decision. This information is not used for advertising or profiling.
Analytics — optional
With your authorization, we use Google Analytics 4 to statistically understand how the site is used. When authorized, Google Analytics may create first-party cookies such as:
_ga- Purpose: distinguish users for statistical purposes. Default duration reported by Google: up to 2 years, subject to browser limitations.
_ga_LV0L92S6YK- Purpose: maintain information related to the session state of Open North's Google Analytics property. Default duration reported by Google: up to 2 years, subject to browser limitations.
These cookies are only created after your consent.
3. Advertising cookies
The Open North institutional website currently does not use:
- Google Ads;
- Meta Pixel;
- TikTok Pixel;
- proprietary cookies intended for behavioral advertising.
Should this practice change in the future, this Policy and the consent mechanism will need to be updated before those technologies are activated, where required.
4. How your choice works
On your first visit, you can:
- accept Analytics;
- reject Analytics;
- open your preferences.
If you reject, Google Analytics will not be loaded. If you accept, Analytics may be loaded and the corresponding cookies may be created.
Your choice is stored in your browser so the site does not ask for the same decision on every page.
5. How to withdraw or change consent
You can change your choice at any time using Manage cookies in the site footer. If you withdraw a consent previously granted:
- your preference will be changed to rejected;
- the
_gaand_ga_*cookies associated with our implementation will be removed when technically accessible to the site; - the page will reload;
- Google Analytics will remain blocked while the option continues to be rejected.
If you later re-authorize Analytics, measurement may be activated again.
6. Browser settings
In addition to the control provided by Open North, your browser lets you view, block, and remove cookies and data stored by websites. Blocking certain technologies may affect some functionality across different sites.
Browser-level management complements, but does not replace, the Manage cookies mechanism available directly on Open North.
7. Montink store
The Open North online store runs on technology infrastructure provided by Montink. Once you enter that environment, other cookies and technologies may be used by Montink and by providers necessary for checkout, payment, security, fraud prevention, production, and logistics.
These resources are not necessarily controlled by the Open North institutional website's cookie mechanism. Please also review the notices and policies presented in the store environment and by the respective providers.
8. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be updated whenever there is a change in the technologies used, the purposes of processing, or applicable law. The date of the current version is indicated at the top of this page.
